Paideia students excel at using their learning at Paideia – focused on Jewish canonical texts – to further their academic studies and to invigorate and deepen Jewish cultural life. Together with that, learning at Paideia has a different kind of purpose: to support intercultural dialogue and to promote a positive paradigm of a minority culture within European societies.

Levi Spectre, Paideia Academic Director

This goal is of growing importance in Europe (and beyond) in light of new challenges democratic societies are facing: the threatening demand of majoritarian groups and organizations to be protected from minorities. Protection from minorities echoes voices from the past with which the Jewish experience in Europe is familiar. Our responsibility is to overcome these worrying trends, together with those who value and promote democratic, self-critical, open societies. Join the Paideia family of dedicated and vigorous fellows and alumni to contribute to that endeavor.
