To commemorate the outbreak of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising exactly 80 years ago, we invite to an event with Barbara Engelking and Zuzanna Schnepf who will talk about different kinds of struggle and the heroism of everyday life that usually escaped the historians attention and show a unique discovery – photographic film with images of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising that is now part of the exhibition AROUND US A SEA OF FIRE.

The exhibition depicts horrible moments when the remaining inhabitants of the ghetto, approximately 50 000 „civilian” Jews spent many weeks hiding in shelters and bunkers. Against the despair, loneliness, starvation, thirst and fear, they fought for each and every „day, hour, minute”. Their silent act of resistance was as important as armed combat.
