Conference – “Living with Difference: Jewish Paradigms”

The international academic conference “Living with Difference: Jewish Paradigms” was held in May at the Swedish History Museum in Stockholm, marking Paideia’s 25th anniversary. Guest speakers and Paideia alumni explored the theme through a rich program of lectures, presentations and study sessions. The conference opened with Moshe Halbertal’s keynote speech “Living with Difference:  האמת והשלום אהבו, On the Love of Truth and Peace”. During three days, speakers and participants engaged in shared thinking on how we negotiate and reckon with differences in shared spaces. The diverse lectures and panels explored these questions within a Jewish context – examining the ways in which Jewish experience, texts and thought can help make sense of, and respond to, the challenges of difference.
