LATVIA, LITHUANIA Learning about the rich and diverse Jewish heritage in the Baltic region before the Second World War was the focus of the third edition of The Baltic Jewish Heritage Study Programme that took place in August. During a six-day trip through Latvia and Lithuania, 14 participants from Europe visited historical Jewish sites and local Jewish communities and met with experts working on contemporary Jewish memory projects. The trip was preceded by a semester-long Online Learning Module that provided the participants with the knowledge to understand the larger perspective and background of Jewish heritage in Latvia and Lithuania. The program is a collaboration between the Museum “Jews in Latvia”, the Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Latvia and Paideia and was supported by the Latvian Jewish Community Restitution Foundation (LEKOREF).
