The Summer Academy for Jewish Educators

The Summer Academy for Jewish Educators is an intensive program for European Jewish educators and aspiring educators seeking to strengthen their professional skills and deepen their Jewish knowledge. The program takes place in July/August in Stockholm. Learn more.

Mapping and Researching Jewish Education in Europe

Call for Research Proposals

The Renaissance Research Program for Jewish Education in Europe invites researchers to apply for a new practice-oriented research initiative on Jewish identity, belonging, and educational frameworks in Europe.

The program is led by the Melton Centre for Jewish Education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Paideia – The European Institute for Jewish Studies in Sweden, with Uppsala University as an academic partner.

The selected researcher will receive a USD 30,000 research stipend for the 2026/27 academic year.

Application deadline: August 20, 2026.

Furthermore, the Renaissance Hub is conducting a comprehensive study to assess the current state and needs of Jewish education in different European countries. The findings will help guide future initiatives.

The One-Year Certificate in Jewish Education

In cooperation with the London School of Jewish Studies (LSJS), the Renaissance Hub is launching the new One-Year Certificate in Jewish Education. This accredited programme is designed for Jewish educators across Europe who want to deepen their knowledge, strengthen their professional skills, and play an active role in shaping the Jewish future.

Renaissance Microgrant Program

The program offers seed funding for innovative, school-based projects that enhance the quality of Jewish education. It prioritizes experiential learning methods and is open to Jewish day schools across Europe. All funded projects will launch by November 2025.

Education Summits

By bringing together educators, experts, and funders, the Renaissance Hub summits provide space for reflection, discussion, and planning, to shape the future of Jewish education in Europe.

  • November 2024 – Summit held in Budapest
  • June 2025 – Online summit
  • December 2025 – Summit held in Riga

Publication “The Good Jewish Educator”

This publication brings together diverse voices, experiences, and educational philosophies to explore a fundamental question: What qualities, values, knowledge, and skills define an educator who can inspire the next generation of Jewish learners? Read “The Good Jewish Educator” here.
