Paideia is delighted to introduce the Summer Academy for Jewish Educators, an intensive program for European Jewish educators seeking to strengthen their professional skills and deepen their Jewish knowledge. Hosted by Paideia, the European Institute for Jewish Studies in Sweden, within the Renaissance Hub, the program offers a strong foundation in Jewish literacy, pedagogy, identity formation, and community development. The Summer Academy prepares participants for continued study and professional engagement at leading Jewish educational institutions across Europe, while fostering a strong international learning community. The program will take place in Stockholm at the end of July, 2026.
Introduction to the Summer Academy by Rani Jaeger, Director of Education
“We are thrilled to introduce you to the Paideia Summer Academy for Jewish Educators, a cornerstone of the Renaissance Hub. This intensive full-board residency in Stockholm, Sweden, hosted by Paideia, is far more than a professional seminar; it is a space for profound human encounter, rigorous study, and strategic networking. Set against the beautiful Swedish summer, the Summer Academy offers a unique opportunity to step out of daily routines and into a vibrant “Community of Practice”. Our mission is to bridge the gap between the timeless depths of classical Jewish scholarship and the complex, contemporary socio-political realities of European Jewish education. Central to our approach is a commitment to experiential learning, where the text meets the self, and theory translates into lived experience. We do not shy away from the difficult questions that define our era; rather, the Summer Academy provides a safe yet challenging laboratory to confront the internal and external challenges of Jewish existence today. Recognizing the diverse professional backgrounds within the Renaissance Hub, the curriculum is intentionally modular and adaptable, ensuring that the study remains acutely relevant – whether you are working in formal classrooms or informal community engagement. Beyond the structured sessions, the Summer Academy serves as a vital platform for a pan-European conversation on the existential realities of Jewish life. Through shared study, personal mentoring, and the cross-pollination of ideas, we aim to elevate educational discourse to the heart of the communal agenda, fostering a leadership network capable of navigating the complexities of the present to shape a renewed Jewish future together.”
